I was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to a young couple from Tennessee.  Dad was career Army and served two tours in Viet Nam. (Yes, that makes me an Army Brat!) Mom was the indomitable Army wife raising two children with a husband off soldiering all the time.  We moved around a bit as I grew up, even lived in Germany for three years.

Two years old.  Yup, curly hair.

Off to college at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.  GO HOKIES!  I received two degrees, a BS in Psychology and a BA in History; but my best memories from college are from the choir I was in.  We toured every spring break.  That group gave me some of the best friends I've ever had.

I found my way to North Carolina and have been here the last several years doing a few different jobs.  The last six years I've been an office manager and technical editor for an environmental consulting company.

I live with my parents.  To make a long story short, they bought a house before they retired here to beat the rise of property values.  I lived in the house.  They retired here, I was about to buy a townhouse and I lost my job.  By the time I found a new job and knew I'd be in it awhile, we had gotten used to living together, so we just stayed that way.  It's almost like having 2 roommates...well roommates that tell you to clean your room and wear a coat.

My Hobbies and Passions are:  (in no particular order)

• Animals - I think I get along better with them than with people sometimes.
• Singing/Music - All different kinds, I'm very eclectic.
• Reading - Again, all different genres, but I have a particular fondness for Scifi/Fantasy.
• Cooking/Baking - Wanna try my "famous" chocolate cake?
• TV/Movies
• Penguins - cause they're so durn cute!
• Chocolate - it calls to me...
• Computers/Blogging - duh!
• Learning new things
• Taking NAPS!
• Crochet - I make afghans for wounded troops. 
• Landstuhl Hospital Care Project - a nonprofit for wounded troops.
• Snoopy - he's my hero!
• Living, Laughing, Loving
